Weekly E-News from Father Kevin (1st Week of December)

Dear Holy Redeemer/Our Lady of Perpetual Help/St. Michael Parish Familes,

Greetings! May the Peace and Love of our Lord Jesus be with you all!

As we begin the Season of Advent, let us remember that Advent is a season of hope! Let us continue to be a people of hope as we look towards the end of the year and the celebration of the Lord's Birth this Christmas! Please know that I am praying for each and every one of you, and I hope that you all are doing OK during this time of the Coronavirus Pandemic. I miss seeing all of you at Church every Sunday for Mass! I wanted to take a few minutes to reach out to you and let you know about some of the upcoming events that we are having at our parishes this upcoming week.

I invite all of you to join us either in person or virtually for Mass celebrating Second Sunday of Advent, this Sunday, December 6th at 9:00 am. If you are unable to join us in person for Mass, I invite you to join us virtually at our Live-Stream at Facebook. You can find the live-stream by visiting our Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Facebook Page.

Tuesday, December 8 is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is the Patronal Feast Day of Our Country and it is a Holy Day of Obligation. I will be celebrating at Mass at 9:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in English and a Mass at 6:00pm in Spanish at St. Michael. The Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help will be Live-Streamed. Please try to join us.

Join us on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm for a special evening of prayer, reflection, and spiritual enrichment during an one hour presentation entitled "Ready the Way for the Lord: Embracing Advent to Prepare for Christmas." Learn more about the Advent Season as we explore ways to live out the Spirit of the Season and prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord this Christmas! This presentation will be held in-person at Holy Redeemer and will be live-streamed on all three parishes' Facebook Pages.

Saturday, December 12 is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I will be celebrating a Mass at 9:00am at St. Michael’s. Due to COVID restrictions, this Mass will be invitation only for the Guadalapana Societies of St. Michael and Our Lady of Perpetual Help and will be live-streamed for all parishioners. Please mark your calendars and try to join us.

We invite you to participate in our Angel Tree Project for Holy Redeemer, St. Michael’s and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Due to COVID, we are trying to make this as contactless as possible. This year, we will provide gift cards to kids and families so that they can make online or in-store purchases for Christmas. Gift cards should be in amounts of $25 or higher. We currently have over 100 angels and are expecting more. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. To participate in our Angel Tree Project, please visit this link to sign-up.

Thank you to all of the families who have registered for Religious Education this school year. Packets for the Month of November should have already been turned in. Packets for the month of December should have been picked up and should be turned in upon completion. Stay tuned for communication regarding the packets for the month of January. If you have any questions regarding Religious Education this year, please contact your child's Religious Education Teacher.
