There's gonna be 'PLENTY GOOD ROOM at Holy Redeemer this Sunday! Join our parish family as we PRAISE THE LORD and celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent, also known as Gaudete Sunday! Bring a family member or friend who hasn't been to Sunday Mass in a while! We will be joined by members of the ACTS-HIV Ministry.
The Third Sunday of Advent. also known as Gaudete Sunday, takes its common name from the Latin word Gaudete ("Rejoice"), the first word of the entrance antiphon of this Sunday's Mass. The ROSE candle is lit in addition to the violet candles representing the first two Sundays of Advent, and the celebrant may wear ROSE vestments at this Mass.
In his 2014 Gaudete Sunday homily, Pope Francis said that Gaudete Sunday is known as the "Sunday of joy", and that instead of fretting about "all they still haven't done" to prepare for Christmas, people should "think of all the good things life has given you."
Join us as we pray the Rosary at 8:30 am and for our Sunday Mass at 9:00 am! We look forward to seeing you at Mass!
